I was walking through Piazza Gae Aulenti today, just after my lunch break, looking at the amazing tower blocks that are home to numerous offices, when I suddenly realised that finding the right look for the office is always a little bit challenging. So, I thought I’d write this short post, which I hope you’ll find helpful when you’re having one of those ‘What shall I wear?’ days.
Well, if you work in an office – however ‘serious’ or ‘unserious’ the working environment might be – you will definitely need a bag to hold all your daily essentials. The best option are quite roomy bags, but they also need to have a certain gravitas and elegance, for when you’re in that meeting with the boss. An example of the perfect work bag is the Balenciaga. I’m using one in the photo: it’s spacious and elegant, but it’s also really functional and oozing with style and character.
Another detail you need to be careful about is footwear. As Cinderella taught us, shoes are really important, so we must never underestimate this aspect of our look. In this case, for very formal situations, I’d recommend heels. But, remember, never wear heels that are over 12 cm high when you’re on-duty, otherwise you could risk coming across as a bit vulgar and out-of-place. If you really can’t walk in heels, go for a princess heel or a pair of comfortable loafers and you’ll sail through the day just fine.
